Digital SAT: format and a UAE preparation timeline
How the Digital SAT is structured and a sensible preparation timeline for students in the UAE applying to university.
The SAT is now a Digital SAT, taken on a device and section-adaptive. Here is the format and a realistic preparation timeline for UAE students. Always confirm current details on the College Board website before you plan.
Format
- Two sections: Reading & Writing and Math, scored on the 400-1600 scale.
- Section-adaptive: performance in the first module of a section shapes the second module.
- Shorter than the old paper SAT, with a calculator allowed throughout Math.
A sensible UAE timeline
- 3-4 months out. Take a full official practice test for a baseline; set a target from your university list.
- Weeks 1-8. Fix the highest-impact gaps; learn Reading & Writing question types and Math pacing.
- Weeks 9-12. Full timed practice under Digital SAT conditions; review every error.
- Final 2 weeks. Consolidate, rehearse timing, and rest before test day.
Confirm current format and dates on College Board. PRISM prepares candidates and builds the plan; we do not register you for the test. See SAT preparation.
